Common Testing Questions

When testing Organic Solutions Multipurpose Insecticide, there are many things to remember:

#1: Organic Solutions Multipurpose Insecticide is a CONTACT KILLER. The insecticide MUST COME IN CONTACT with the insects to kill them!

#2: The Multipurpose Insecticide is most cost effective when used with a wet application method, but the insecticide must be properly agitated for 100% effectiveness.

#3: The white residue left after an application will provide an insect barrier that helps to prevent re-infestation. This barrier increases with each subsequent application.

Specific Application Questions:
Mixing:

Organic Solutions Insecticide should be mixed with water at a rate of 1 to 6 pounds per acre, depending on the level of insect infestation. In all cases, the dry insecticide must be mixed in a separate container and then poured into the spraying equipment. When using a surfactant, a non-ionic product is recommended, as these have a tendency to cause phytotoxicity (burning of leaves). An agitator or mixer is recommended, but manual stirring of product will suffice in most instances.

Application:
Some insects, such as white flies, are controlled best with a dry application. However, the insecticide is much more cost effective when applied according to label directions, and applied in a wet application.

For small-scale application, the Multipurpose Insecticide should be applied with a backpack sprayer, a power blower, or a power sprayer, etc.
For large-scale application, the Multipurpose Insecticide is applied most efficiently with a tractor or by aerial means.

Open Fields: When applying in open fields, remember that insets do not recognize legal boundaries; the fields surrounding the test field will also be infested with insects. Therefore, after the application, there may be a chance of outside infestation.
For example:
Before treatment = 100% infestation   Treatment= 100% KILL in treated area   After Treatment= potential re-infestation

An exception to this method is mosquito control in open areas, where 2 oz. of Multipurpose Insecticide per acre is all that the label requires.
Mosquito & Cockroach Control in storm drains, sewer lines, etc: Best achieved by blowing the insecticide through the tunnels in a dry application with a back blower.
