Expectations:
"Results are extremely variable. The following is an average experience. You may expect increased energy and improved sleep patterns within the first one to two weeks. If pain is an issue, you may expect to see a decrease in your pain starting at two to four weeks, and an increase in this effect can occur gradually for three to six months."

Mangosteen Basics:

  • Refrigeration of open bottles is recommended and enhances the taste, however, there is no reason for concern if the juice is left at room temperature for up to two days. Unopened bottles need not be refrigerated but should be stored at room temperature.
  • The clear plastic piece inside the cap should be placed on the peg in the cap if it remains on the glass bottle when opened. This prevents leakage when you shake the juice.
  • Shake product before use.
  • Use an accurate measuring devise for serving sizes and take regularly.
  • Best to take with meals, if possible.
  • Diving the serving into three times a day is much more effective than taking it once or two times a day - IE, You wouldn't eat an apple for breakfast, and still expect to be full at 3 PM.
  • This is a food, and a non-toxic product, and there is no lethal dose.
  • Children may achieve the benefits at lower doses.
  • Flare-up's of any disease or illness should be handled with increased intake of the mangosteen until improvement occurs.
  • Be certain that you choose a product that includes all of the pericarp and not simply an extract. Organic Solutions recommends XanGoTM.

Exceptions:
Those people with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's Disease should introduce mangosteen juice to their system gradually, starting with only one tablespoon (1/2 oz.) mixed with four ounces of water and taken with food two times daily. If no cramping or diarrhea occurs, increase the dose to one tablespoon three times daily. Next, increase the morning and afternoon dose to one ounce, and then add in the noon dose. Increase it when able, and titrate up to the desired dose, usually two ounces three times a day.

Drug Interactions:
Coumadin is the only drug that requires extra caution. Decide the serving size to be taken and after using the product consistently for 3-5 days, have your usual blood test (PT/INR) and follow your doctor's recommendation on your coumadin dose. Changes in your coumadin dose may be needed.
